The magical maternity photoshoot that I recently did for my clients was nothing short of a fairytale. Originally planned to take place at Crystal Mountain Resort, the session took an unexpected turn when heavy rain greeted us at the top of the mountain. However, this unforeseen obstacle led us to discover an even more enchanting location just minutes away.
As we drove down to the bottom of the mountain, we stumbled upon a hidden gem in the forest by the river. The lush greenery, serene waters, and towering trees created a scene straight out of a fantasy novel. I couldn't help but be reminded of the mystical world of "Lord of the Rings" as we set up for the photoshoot.
My clients, a soon-to-be parents, were accompanied by their friends and relatives who were more than willing to lend a hand in making the photoshoot a success. One of the standout additions to the shoot was the adorable mini Aussie named Tokki. This well-behaved pup added a playful element to the session and we were able to capture some heartwarming moments of him with his family.
The photoshoot itself was truly magical. The natural beauty of the surroundings served as the perfect backdrop for capturing the love and anticipation of my clients as they awaited the arrival of their little one. The gentle rustle of the leaves, the soft gurgle of the river, and the soft light filtering through the trees added a dreamlike quality to the photos.
Once we felt that we had captured all the perfect poses at the forest location, we decided to give it another try and headed back to Crystal Mountain Resort. The rain had finally stopped, allowing us to take the lift up to our final destination. As we ascended higher and higher, the weather took another unexpected turn - it started snowing. In the middle of April, I couldn't believe that we were about to embark on another snow photoshoot.
Arriving at the top of the mountain, we were greeted with a winter wonderland scene. Everything was draped in a blanket of snow, creating a magical backdrop for the expecting couple. The snowfall added an extra touch of enchantment to the photoshoot, transforming the landscape into a scene straight out of a fairytale.
Despite the chilly weather, the couple embraced the moment and we captured some truly breathtaking shots against the snowy backdrop. From romantic embraces in the snow to playful moments inside the lift, every photo reflected the joy and anticipation of the couple as they awaited the arrival of their little one.
As I looked through the images later, I couldn't help but marvel at the contrast between the lush forest setting and the snowy mountaintop. Each location had its own distinct charm and together they told a beautiful story of love, adventure, and unexpected surprises.
This dual-location maternity photoshoot will forever hold a special place in my heart. It was a testament to the unpredictable yet magical nature of photography, where even unexpected obstacles can lead to unforgettable moments. I will always cherish the memories of this day, where nature's beauty and the love of a growing family came together to create pure magic.
